This morning we offer a special welcome to Lee & Rachel Hiebert from Winnipeg/Elkhart IN. Our Pastoral Search Committee has been in conversation with Lee about becoming our next pastor, and Lee & Rachel are here this weekend so that we can get better acquainted with each other. They already met yesterday with members of our Search Committee, Vision Council, and deacons. Besides being in today’s Sunday school hour and worship service, Rachel & Lee will be joining us for a potluck lunch and an opportunity to meet other members of our congregation.

Tonight , 7:00 p.m. Congregational Meeting - We will meet in the sanctuary to vote on the Lead Pastor candidate (Lee Hiebert) and to receive details of Vision Council's decision in response to a request from Steinbach Community Outreach for additional space.  This ministry will occupy the majority of SMC's second floor in exchange for cost recovery.

Please pray for:

·      Hildegard Adrian in Bethesda Hospital

·      Peter Dyck, Agnes Nikkel, Tina Nikkel, Jessie Peters, Frieda Wallman, Helen Warkentin, Anne Unger (Bethesda Place), Agnes Ketler (Niverville),  Justina Rempel, (Maplewood)

Our sympathies and prayers go to Dorothy Dyck and family on the death of her husband, Ben R. Dyck, on May 26th.

In Memorium: We remember Henry Peters who passed away a year ago on June 7th. Pray for God’s comfort and peace to the family and friends these days.

Congratulations to Hans & Elma Schroeder who will celebrate their 25th anniversary June 6th. We wish you God’s blessing and many more years together.

Correction: Last Sunday the member transfer list in the bulletin should have included Kim and Rob Sidorchuk; our apologies for the oversight, we do pray God’s blessing for both of them as they join Grace MC.

The Refugee Committee would like to express appreciation to all participants of our fundraising lunch last Sunday. The lunch and fellowship time were enjoyable, we got to know the Mulamba family better, and donations of $4020.00 were received.

We pray a blessing for Sabine Neufeld as we honour her request to be released from her membership at SMC.

During the summer months, June, July and August, there will be no Sunday school. Worship services will start at 10:45 a.m., followed by a finger food potluck lunch.

During the month of May our children collected coins (and bills) for our Abundant Harvest Community Growing Project. Our aim was $500, but by the end of the month we had a total of $1,046.53 plus an extra cheque for $1,000.00. Thanks to everyone for your generosity!
