WELCOME TO OUR WORSHIP SERVICE

The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats

September 2nd, 2018 – 10:45 a.m.

Focus Statement: These parables tell us that we are to respond with care and love towards those who are in need. But have we really heard what Jesus was saying? Maybe we have twisted the story and missed Jesus’ point. Who is my neighbour anyway? Who are actually “the least of these, my brothers and sisters”?

THINKING AHEAD

Next Week: Covenanting Sunday and Child Dedications

Think about it:   Next Sunday we will be celebrating communion together, remembering our covenant with each other, and making a new covenant about our role in the lives of Lucia and Adeline.  Take the following week to prepare and think about how we are called to be in communion and what it takes to covenant with each other.

PRAYER & PRAISE

Please pray for:

·         Peter Koop who is in Bethesda Hospital.

·         Hildegard Adrian, Peter Dyck, Tina Nikkel, Jessie Peters, and

who are in Bethesda Place.

·         Pray for our missionaries:  Rachel Klassen  - Germany

·         Judy Lafournaise who continues to struggle with health issues.

If you have a prayer request, please contact our Prayer Chain coordinator, Anne E. Froese,

Our condolences go out to Jim and Annette Martens on the passing of Annette’s mother Tina Esau (nee Klassen) on August 29th, 2018.  The funeral was on September 1 at 2pm at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. May you feel God’s comfort in this difficult time.

Thank you to all who contributed or took part in our weekend at Manigotagan. We had a remarkable experience – a good foundation for future contacts. We were able to take along a good supply of food for various events, thanks to the generosity of many who provided cookies and rolls and cakes. A rough count of 32 of us travelled there and back, with the help of two bus drivers. Thank you again to all who helped make our Manigotagan weekend a good experience. –Lee and Daryl.
